A dental diode laser is a handheld device that the dentist use for gum surgeries. The device emits a powerful laser that can cut the soft tissues effortlessly.

The dental diode laser uses electrical currents to create a photo-thermal effect. Therefore, the device cuts the soft tissues and cauterizes them at the same time. This reduces bleeding and lowers the risk of scarring and swelling due to the procedure.

The device emits a wavelength of 810, 940, or 980 nm. Furthermore, this energy wavelength is absorbed by water, hemoglobin, and melanin.

The dental diode laser is connected to a control unit. This unit has a screen and buttons to adjust the device's settings.
